About
Hey, I'm Antonio Fulgencio. 28, born and based in Crato, a small city in the sertão of Ceará, in the Brazilian northeast.
I write software for a living and, honestly, also for fun. The loop of breaking something, figuring out why, and making it work is the part of the job I haven't gotten tired of in six years. This blog is the side of that loop where I slow down enough to write the lesson out, so it doesn't slip away the next time I need it.
What I work on
Software Engineer with 6+ years of experience building scalable digital products across e-commerce, fintech, health tech, and real-time platforms. My background is strongest in front-end engineering with React and Next.js, while also working across the full stack with Django, APIs, and AI-powered development workflows that improve execution speed and product delivery.
I've contributed to products for U.S. companies and cross-functional teams, delivering reusable component systems, multilingual e-commerce experiences, full-stack features, and experimentation initiatives that drove measurable business results. More recently, at 23andMe, I've worked on full-stack product development, AI-assisted workflows, and A/B testing initiatives that improved conversion and accelerated internal execution.
I care deeply about clean architecture, maintainability, accessibility, performance, and strong engineering standards. I enjoy translating design into polished user experiences, improving development workflows, and collaborating closely with Product, Marketing, Design, and Engineering to ship impactful solutions.
Why this blog
This is where I write down the daily challenges I run into while shipping software and the solutions I land on: patterns that worked, gotchas that bit me, refactors that paid off, refactors that didn't. Alongside that, anything else I find interesting in software development: new APIs worth knowing, tools that change how I work, architectural decisions worth revisiting.
If a post here saves you an hour of debugging, or opens a better way to attack a problem you were already wrestling with, it earned its keep.
Now
Built with TanStack Start + TanStack Router, Better Auth, Drizzle ORM on PostgreSQL, Tailwind v4, deployed via Docker on a VPS. Interested in SSR performance, type-safe APIs, and modern developer tooling.
